Ana García López
Artist, Resident

Ana García López (Madrid, 1998) is a multidisciplinary artist. Lives and works between Madrid and Reykjavík. Her work explores the practice of interruption as an ephemeral way of cutting processes of normative continuity, especially around gender and femininity. Considering the artistic practice as a way of taking care of the things we were taught to overlook, she bases her work in the plurality of spaces (staircases, wardrobes), objects (clothespins, dirty clothes, hangers) and processes that shape the daily experience; as valuable ways of showing the mechanisms of power, but also of resistance, that constitute them.
