Anja Isabel Schneider
Resident
Anja Isabel Schneider studied American Literature in Los Angeles (UCLA) and Tübingen (Eberhard Karls Universität) as well as Art History and Curating in London. She holds an MA in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art and an MFA in Curating from Goldsmiths, University of London. From 2015 to 2020, she was a doctoral candidate in Curatorial Research at M HKA, Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen/KU Leuven, Lieven Gevaert Research Centre for Photography, Art and Visual Culture and a member of the research team Art Against the Grain of “Collective Sisyphus”: The Case of Allan Sekula’s Ship of Fools / The Dockers’ Museum (2010–2013). This major, long-term research project was jointly pursued by M HKA and the Lieven Gevaert Centre at KU Leuven and UCLouvain, with professor Hilde Van Gelder as promotor. It was funded by the KU Leuven Research Fund and the Research Foundation-Flanders (FWO), with the support of M HKA and the Allan Sekula Studio.
