Carla Gimeno Jaria

Carla Gimeno Jaria is a curator, cultural manager and researcher based in Barcelona (ES). Her practice explores the impact of semiocapitalism on bodies; how are constituted, how do they affect each other, relate and behave in this context.
In 2015, she graduated in Communication and Cultural Industries by the University of Barcelona. She holds an MA in Curating & Collections from the University of the Arts London and a Postgraduate in Contemporary Art Theory from the University of Barcelona. In December 2018, she co-founded trans-, a curatorial collective that establishes a framework for critical thinking, research and exhibition-making by working with artists whose practice questions the impact of the globalisation and semio-capitalism on the social body.
Other recent projects include: ‘quality time | GRWM‘ for Loop Barcelona with Clàudia del Barrio, ‘Que me entierren con todo’ with Cristina Spinelli at Nogueras Blanchard (BCN), ‘Desmosoma’ in collaboration with CC Can Felipa with Paula Bruna, Alba Garcia i Allue and Jessica Moroni or ‘The Body as Homeland’ at Espai 2, àngels barcelona with Lizette Nin and Wafa Aoun within BAR Project.
