Elda Isavelina Ortiz Rivas (1991, Río Grande, Zac. Mexico) is an artist, curator, filmmaker and teacher based in Barcelona. BA in Philosophy and BA in Visual Arts both from the Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas. She studied a master’s degree in Theory and Practice of Creative Documentary at the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. Co-founder of the independent contemporary art space Tiempo Compartido. Founder and general director of Hermenauta Estudio-Laboratorio, a laboratory for experimental audiovisual and film production. Founder of the collective Sindicata, a collective of women film, video and photography workers in the state of Zacatecas. In 2020 she created Ediciones Cuchilla, a self-managed publishing project that edits and publishes freely distributed artist books.
