Wafa Aoun

Wafa Aoun is a Lebanese artist and Costume Designer. She holds a Masters in Fashion and Accessory Design from Institut Français de La Mode and a BA in Fashion Design and Pattern Making from ESMOD. She attended advanced Draping and Pattern Construction classes at Académie Internationale de Coupe de Paris before pursuing a Research Master at La Sorbonne Paris IV in history of art specialized in personal equipment.

Her work is based on research focusing on clothing behaviours and wearing techniques, she is interested in garments as an action of construction linking simultaneously the creative and the wearing process. (The way clothes are made to the way they are worn) She explores garments both as a physical experience and a cultural practice locating her work on the edge between visual and living arts.
