Marlie Mul, Sold

2013, Artist

Working with the rhythm and movement of the city, Marlie Mul will present a one-off, short and transient composition: some particular urban elements mixed with some material artistic clichés. The event is experimental for the artist herself as it will only take place once and hasn’t been rehearsed in any way before.

Working with the rhythm and movement of the city, Marlie Mul will present a one-off, short and transient composition: some particular urban elements–Barcelona’s constant flow of traffic, mixed with some material artistic clichés. The event is experimental for the artist herself as it will only take place once and won’t be rehearsed in any way before. The event will however be documented by both film and photo, which implies that all the preparations towards this event are planned for the documentation material that will exist afterwards. The situation produced will thereby attempt to address the potential that lies in such notions as circulation and distribution, in relation to the artworks tendency to absorb, and be absorbed by, all networks and apparatuses it is surrounded by.
