Manuela Pereira Enríquez
Resident, Artist
Manuela Pereira Enríquez (Lalín, 1998) develops her practice and research from artistic and curatorial methodologies, focusing on microhistory and territorial narratives through writing and audiovisual media. Her work also engages with archival materials—both institutional and domestic—approaching the archive as a site of friction, rereading, and critical activation of the past within the present.
She holds a degree in Art History from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela and a Master’s in Humanities: Art, Literature and Contemporary Culture. She has taken part in projects such as On Mediation (UB) and La Mediación en el Arte y la Cultura (Escola Massana), and is a participant in the 9th edition of the Independent Studies Programme (PEI) at the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), where she also worked as a resident researcher thanks to the Generalitat de Catalunya’s Grant for Research and Innovation in the field of Thought and Visual Arts.
In 2025 she received the Sala d’Art Jove Creation Prize and curated the exhibition *En aquell llindar on*, a collaboration between Homesession, SAJ and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona, within the framework of the Art Nou Festival. She has recently taken part in exhibitions and projects at MACBA, Culturgest (Portugal), the Sarria Triennial, the National Gallery of Scotland (Edinburgh) and the Curtocircuíto International Film Festival.
