Paula Vilageliu Porlein (Barcelona) is a visual artist whose practice lies at the intersection of sculpture, video, and installation. Her work is grounded in the relationship between body, matter, and space, understanding sculpture in an expanded sense that incorporates action, writing, and audiovisual documentation. From the intimacy of the studio, her process unfolds outward in a continuous movement of exploration, where uncertainty and the desire to make become creative impulses.
In her recent projects, Vilageliu investigates the sensitive potential of intimacy as a shared and ever-changing territory, where fragility and resistance coexist. Her work oscillates between the vulnerable and the solid, exploring material tensions and everyday gestures that take form as sculptures, installations, or visual records. Each piece configures its own ecosystem, internally connected yet in dialogue with the present moment and its context.
Her practice seeks to generate spaces of care, strangeness, and overflow, offering a thoughtful gaze toward the bonds and forms that emerge in the relationships between bodies. Her work has been shown in spaces such as Sant Andreu Contemporani, and she recently expanded her field of practice by designing the stage space for Torcidxs, the latest production by the company Las Nenas.
