“I met Roberto after the 2001 crisis. At the time, we were looking for a place to screen a cult film that had never been shown before, and Fundación Start—created and directed by him—welcomed us with great generosity. That evening, as inspiring as it was fun, marked the beginning of a period in which I became actively involved in his initiatives, just as Proyecto Venus was coming into being: a time of tremendous creative energy and intense work.”

“Contagion is a presentation that revisits an earlier performance based on the reading of a sensationalist script. It explores different ways emotions multiply within groups, the contagious power of caricature, and that almost magical quality of orality to conjure images in the mind. Following a somewhat diffuse biographical trail, the piece interweaves its own history with a precise moment in Roberto Jacoby’s life.”
